Getting Here

Bryson City is located at the southern edge of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, near Cherokee. It's just an hour's drive west of Asheville; and less than three hours from Atlanta, Greenville/Spartanburg, Charlotte, Knoxville and Chattanooga.

Directions to the campground: From US 74 and exit 67, go down the hill (north) on Veterans Blvd. At the first light, turn right on to Main Street (US 19).

At the next light, turn left on to Everett Street (in front of the Courthouse Museum). Immediately after crossing the train tracks at the train depot turn right on to Depot Street (which soon becomes Deep Creek Road). Go about a half mile and curve left onto West Deep Creek Road (do not cross the bridge). You'll find us about a half mile on your right. Registration is in the log cabin general store.

Using GPS?

GPS navigation systems like Google Maps will provide turn-by-turn directions from your current location to the campground. However, they may suggest routes that are not suitable for large vehicles.

We strongly discourage campers with RVs from traveling these roads —
  • US 28 from Franklin to Bryson City
  • US 19 from Maggie Valley to Bryson City
  • River Road in Bryson City

Once in Bryson City, RV drivers should follow the directions on this page. GPS systems may suggest streets too narrow for RVs.
